Postcards from
In this category I collect my snapshots of places, feelings and people. Like postcards that I decide to send myself so as not to forget. I love travelling, savouring, knowing. I love discovering new things. I love listening to the stories of the elderly as well as the teachings of a professional. I love being carried away by unpredictable combinations, street food, fish markets. I love kissing my husband after getting lost in the hidden streets of our umpteenth romantic weekend, always as if it were our first date. That's what "Postcards from..." is all about. ❤️
What to do in Livigno? 10 tasty and unmissable activities
What to do in Livigno? Perhaps the first things that come to mind are skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling (but I've even seen people climbing vertical mountains with snowmobiles)... what if you went to Livigno...?
Barcolana 2022 with wines from Torre Rosazza
When I think of the Barcolana regatta I think of my father. I remember that he would have loved to see it, but unfortunately he didn't make it in time. I remember Luna Rossa, the sailboat he used to cheer for. I remember him watching the Barcolana on TV and he loved it.
Geo e geo: Monte Isola documentary
Gosh, it was 23 June 2021 when we filmed the documentary 'L'isola del lago' with director Gioacchino Castiglione for Geo e Geo (or is it just called Geo?) on Rai 3. I admit I had - almost - forgotten about it by then... so imagine what a pleasure I had to...
Vinchio vaglio: wine and food experience
I have chosen this cover photo to tell you about two really beautiful days I spent as a guest of the Vinchio Vaglio winery between Nizza Monferrato and Asti. The very pleasant company certainly contributed to this experience among the wines of Piedmont in a very special way.
Hotels Selva Val Gardena: Granbaita Dolomites
When I was a child, my favourite time was writing in my secret diary at night... and even though almost thirty years have passed, I have never stopped doing it, only today this diary is no longer secret, but is a blog where I tell everyone about my most...
Upper Piedmont: Castellengo Experience
Do you know why I chose to write only on my wine blog? Because the blog is, by definition, an online diary and for this reason the narration cannot be delegated to third parties. That is why my blog times are my own and why there is no regular frequency of articles. In fact, I...
Oltrepò Pavese wine: discover Tenuta Mazzolino
A few kilometres from Pavia, among the Oltrepò Pavese wineries, there is one worth visiting: Tenuta Mazzolino. A few months ago I wrote this article where I told you, thanks to Francesca's beautiful letter, the story of this winery. In addition, I have...
Victorian era: (co)science of eating
Today and tomorrow I dedicate them to studying because this Friday I have my last university exam of the second year: Microbiology of Food and Wine. A complex subject that I am enjoying beyond expectations: I am learning really useful things about yeasts in particular...
Venturini Baldini: a modern, family-run château in Food Valley
On Saturday, for the first time in seven years, I left my Moleskine at home. Not only that, I also made an effort not to take notes. It sounds like a trivial beginning, but the reality is that to savour an Experience you just have to live it. For the same reason I...
Monte Isola: 3 gastronomic delights that the 'new' Pro Loco will make you fall in love with
I have a very clear memory in me of when I was a child. "I want to write on the lake," I said. I was about eight years old and I was sitting on the bidet while my dad was sitting on the toilet. I know, said like that, it's a bit weird. 😅 Yet it was something we used to do all the time to confide in each other the.
GrandTour Collection: a postcard from Via dei Coronari, Rome ❤️
The first piece of jewellery I bought as a young girl was an orange cameo depicting a young woman. I was in Rome, on an 'outing' with some of my classmates from Ravenna Art School, and it was almost twenty years ago, but I was so fascinated by it that I...
Villa Pagnoncelli Folcieri: a postcard from the Moscato di Scanzo road
During Milan Wine Week 2020 I tasted a wine that particularly impressed me, the Moscato di Scanzo of Villa Pagnoncelli Folcieri. So I posted a video of me 'tapping' it on my Instagram profile and from there my acquaintance with Francesca,...
Marco Simonit: Arms stolen from agriculture? But also no!
On Sunday I had a pleasant phone chat with Marco Simonit, the undisputed 'guru' of vine pruning. A delightful and knowledgeable person whom I had met personally during the splendid Valentine's Day at Castello di Spessa!...
Camilleri: a wine, among the 'Miracles of Trieste', for his death
I have never read a Camilleri novel, nor have I ever watched Il Commissario Montalbano on television. The truth is that I don't even watch television. And I have never liked novels, so I have never been able to get close to them, not even when I was ...
Lisbon: Bacalhau a Braz and Vinho Verde in the heart of Alfama
If I had been told just a week ago, I would never have imagined writing an article dedicated to 'Bacalhau a Braz' from the Copenhagen Coffee Lab in Lisbon. I have to say that I have the good fortune of a special best friend, who is aware of the heavy year I am having...
Monte Isola: tastings and legends in Maurizio Ribola's olive grove
Yesterday afternoon I was working, waiting to go at 7.30 p.m. to the event organised by Maurizio Ribola called 'l'oliveto poetico' (the poetic olive grove) right under our house. With Fantozzian precision, it started raining right at seven! Maurizio, who by then had...
#ThinkSerravalle: a new (wine)tourism project for the Gavi valley
The presentation of #ThinkSerravalle took place on 20 September and I had a wonderful experience of history, culture, shopping and, of course, wine!
Frost 2017: disaster in Italian vineyards, photos and thoughts directly from winegrowers
Everyone's been looking at the thermometer for the past couple of nights in northern Italy: after a beautiful March, with above-average temperatures that brought forward the shoots in many areas, the frost of these nights arrived, bringing temperatures back down to below...
Millésima Blog Awards 2017: a fabulous week in the France of wine
As you probably know, I won the 2017 Millesima Blog Awards and picked up the trophy in France, in Bordeaux, during Primeur Week. The prize consisted of a fabulous week tasting wines from the finest Bordeaux Chateaus together with my colleagues....
Millesima Blog Awards 2017: an extraordinary experience for us winners!
I've been in France since last Saturday as the winner for Europe in the Food & Wine Pairing category of the Millesima Blog Awards, a guest of Millésima for a week to visit the wonderful food and wine reality of Bordeaux. I promised myself I would write a lot...
Millesima Blog Awards 2017: but what are 3 Americans, 2 Hungarians and an Italian doing in Bordeaux?
The countdown to Bordeaux has now begun, where I, along with the other five winners of the 2017 Millésima Blog Awards, an international English-language competition dedicated to wine bloggers, will have a magical experience discovering this...
What really pisses off those who like to eat and drink well
This morning I want to spend half an hour of my time to talk about an idea that is very close to my heart. I want to talk about the difference between production cost, real value and perceived value, and how a fourth word creeps into these three concepts:...
Porquerolles: the fascinating wines of la Ila de Hyéres in Provence
Provence - Côte d'Azur is a region in the deepest south of France that fascinates with its colourful and romantic image that it has masterfully built up over the years. It is also for this reason that Francesco and I chose it as the perfect holiday destination....
A rainbow of beauty on Lake Iseo contemplated with a Sauternes
Woke up at dawn this morning... after a very restless night's sleep, I got out of bed at 6 a.m. The beauty of my job is definitely that I can manage my schedule in total autonomy, but I must say that getting up so early has its advantages because you have...
Sicily: Tales of wines & cuisines from one of Italy's most extraordinary regions
I am very attached to Sicily, partly because, having visited every corner of Italy, I cannot find a place in Italy as amazing for its natural, artistic, gastronomic and human beauty, and partly because it was the birthplace of my...
Vinho do Porto: travelling through the secrets of Venus!
I decided to 'dust off' this report I did in 2012 for another magazine... because Port is a wine that is very close to my heart! In this article I want to shed some light on the intricate world of Port wines, which, guess what, are not only Ruby and not produced by...
Ribeira sacra: Journey through the history of Galician wine-growing
This article is a tribute to Roberto Bellini, who was able to masterfully immerse me in the heroic viticulture of the Ribeira Sacra. Reading the new issue of Vitae, the wonderful A.I.S. magazine that I receive quarterly, I thought it was a real...
Slow Food: Caviar, Sturgeon and Ferrara Tradition
What I like about Andrea is that he starts at 8:14 a.m. on a Friday morning with a message on whatsapp saying: 'Hi dear, plans for tonight? Would you like a sturgeon dinner, caviar included? Organise Slow Food Ferrara'. And now you tell me......
