Today I am really happy because I am announcing that I will keep Monte Isola on Lake Iseo the first tasting course wine developed over several days in my professional career! Of course, I have already held wine tasting afternoons and evenings, wine masterclasses for professionals... but these were always meetings designed to last one or two hours and not a multi-day course. Moreover, this is the first course that I have conceived and designed in total freedom, so I am even more proud of it!
Wine tasting course: first of all I want to say thank you!
First of all, I want to thank Guglielmo Novaliour tourism councillor, for suggesting me to do it and helping me to organise everything, then the Monte Isola Library for giving me a cultural space to hold it and finally theMonte Isola Municipal Administration for the support. Then I want to thank my partner, Pellegrini S.p.A. - quality distilled wines for the supply of all the wines to be tasted during the course, without which it would not really have been possible to offer it at such a low price, something I was very keen on as the aim of my course is to introduce you to Italian wine and teach you how to choose it, in wine shops, wine bars and restaurants. Many thanks to a wonderful friend, Emanuele Pellegrinibecause she always supports me and not only that, she always puts her invaluable contribution and passion into making everything special! Finally, I want to thank another special friend, a person who is so much like me and perhaps that is why I get on so well with her: the Francesca Pagnoncelli, of Villa Pagnoncelli Folcieri and president of the Moscato di Scanzo Consortiumfor organising a premium cellar visit for all trainees. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
In the photo, Monica Rossetti, Emanuele's talented oenologist and wife, and Emanuele Pellegrini, when they came to visit me in Monte Isola and we had a little evening of fish cooked by me and champagne brought by Emanuele (here the article)!

Wine tasting course: information and booking
The course will be held in the place where I live, the magnificent Monte Isola, the island in the heart of Lake Iseo. If you are not from Monte Isola, don't worry: I will now explain how to get there. The 4 theory lessons will be held at The Monte Isola Municipal Library is located in Carzano, which is easily reached by ferry from Sale Marasino (BS). The ferries are about every 20 minutes, and in particular to get there on time at 20:30 you can take the 19:55 ferry from Sale Marasino, but if you take the 20:25 one it's fine too, as the journey takes 5 minutes and to get to the library on foot is another 5 minutes! When you get off the ferry, go to your left and keep going straight until you find it next to you!
The cellar visit will take place on 4 June 2022 at 11 a.m.and we will agree on the last evening on where to meet and how to get to the winery. Everyone will have to organise their own transport, but maybe during the course we will agree to save some cars. Keep free from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. because there may be an additional surprise...
The course fee is € 150 and includes:
- 4 lessons of two hours each (total 8 hours) with 12 wines for tasting;
- Study and tasting kit consisting of my teaching book with the professional universal goblet and goblet box, worth €60
- Premium cellar visit with tasting worth € 50
- Certificate of Participation
Given the limited number of places, I kindly ask you to buy the course to confirm your participation and reserve your place by 4 May 2022. The available places may sell out before that date, unfortunately I cannot guarantee until the last day that the course can be purchased.
Finally, for those who wish, it is possible to certify the course for ECP (Continuing Professional Education) professional training credits. To be able to certify the course you need to take an online exam to be paid separately to the certifying body that collaborates with me (cost 48 €) and have attended all 8 hours of the first 4 lessons. Certifying the course means enriching your CV, so if you work in the wine or catering industry I recommend you do it.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance as a memento of the course. Those who certify the course, after passing the online examination, will receive the Certificate of Competence in 'Knowledge and Tasting of Italian Wine' recognised by numerous bodies and valid for participation in public tenders and competitions.
I hope to see you on 9 May!
Cheers 🍷
