It gives immense satisfaction to have completed the works for the new edition of the Viniplus guide, available online for members, enthusiasts and professionals in the sector, once again this year. Despite the difficulties of the moment, our group of tasters managed to organize the tasting sessions in total safety. A meticulous work that involved many colleagues who carried out their task with passion, seriousness and commitment.

The result does not surprise us at all. On the contrary, it confirms the unstoppable growth of the quality of Lombard wine, thanks to the hard work of the producers, true custodians of tradition and wine culture, and increasingly attentive to the environment. Sustainability has become a philosophy of life and a stimulus to defend the environment around us. The last two years have marked all of us but the Lombard spirit and determination once again made the difference. It is a great satisfaction to have successfully completed, once again this year, the tastings for our Viniplus 2022 Regional Guide, which also serve to draw up the section dedicated to Lombardy in the National Vitae Guide. I obviously have to thank all the tasters who made themselves available and participated in the various tasting commissions. A heartfelt thanks goes to all the sommeliers tasters involved in the organizational logistics necessary before, during and after the tasting phases.
Organizing the cataloging of the over 1000 wines to perfection is not easy and requires a precise, punctual and daily commitment for about a month. Even organizing, during the tasting phases, the succession and service of wines requires precision, constant attention and sure professionalism. It is necessary to control the temperatures, prepare the tasting batteries with all the bottles covered and signed, it is necessary that the single label is served only to the specific taster to whom it is assigned and without ever making mistakes. In addition to being tasted blindly, the same bottle is evaluated simultaneously by three different commissions which, during the tasting phase, must not and cannot communicate with each other, just as no commissioner can communicate with someone else on his own commission.
Once this is done there is then the phase of the equally demanding collection and cataloging of the scores, the reworking of the descriptions of each wine which is carried out on the basis of the notes of the various commissions, to conclude there is then the final check of all the data and of all descriptions to avoid oversights or errors.
