Today I am really happy because I announce that I will keep a Monte Isola the first on Lake Iseo tasting course wine developed over several days of my professional career! Of course, I have already held afternoons and evenings of tasting, Masterclasses on wine for professional operators… but they were always meetings designed to last one or two hours and not a multi-day itinerary. Furthermore, this is the first course conceived and designed by me in total freedom, so I'm even more proud of it!

Wine tasting course: first of all I want to say thank you!

First I want to thank Guglielmo Novali, our tourism advisor, for suggesting me to do it and for helping me organize everything, then there Monte Isola Library for giving me a cultural space to keep it and finally theMunicipal Administration of Monte Isola for support. Then I want to thank my partner, Pellegrini SpA - quality distilled wines for the supply of all the wines that will be tasted during the course, without which it would not really have been possible to offer it at such a low price, which I really cared about as the goal of my course is to introduce you to Italian wine and teach you to choose it, in the wine shop, in the wine bar and in the restaurant. Heartfelt thanks to a splendid friend, Emanuele Pellegrini, because he always supports me and not only, he always puts his precious contribution and his passion to make everything special! Finally, I want to thank another special friend, a person who looks a lot like me and maybe that's why I really enjoy it: the Francesca Pagnoncelli, of Villa Pagnoncelli Folcieri and president of the Moscato di Scanzo Consortium, for organizing a visit to a premium cellar for all the students. Many thanks to all.

Wine tasting course: information and reservations

The course will be held in the place where I live, the magnificent Monte Isola, which is the island in the heart of Lake Iseo. If you are not from Monte Isola, do not worry: I will now explain how to reach me. The 4 theoretical lessons will be held at Monte Isola Municipal Library located in Carzano, easily reachable by ferry from Sale Marasino (BS). The ferries are about every 20 minutes, and in particular to arrive on time at 20:30 you can take the ferry from Sale Marasino at 19:55, but if you take the one at 20:25 it's okay, since the journey takes 5 minutes and to get to the library on foot it is another 5 minutes! When you get off the ferry go to your left and always go straight until you find it next to you!

The visit to the winery will take place on 4 June 2022 at 11 am, and we will agree on the last evening for where to find us and how to reach the cellar. Everyone will have to organize themselves with their own vehicle, but maybe during the course we will agree to save a few cars. Stay free from 11:00 to 16:00 because maybe there will be an additional surprise ...

The course registration fee is 150 € and includes:

  • 4 lessons of two hours each (total 8 hours) with 12 wines for tasting;
  • Study and tasting kit consisting of my didactic book with the professional universal goblet and the goblet holder package, worth € 60
  • Visit to the cellar with tasting of the Premium Range worth € 50
  • Certificate of attendance

Given the limited number of places, I kindly ask you to buy the course to confirm your participation and reserve your place by May 4th 2022. The available places may run out before that date, unfortunately I cannot guarantee the possibility to buy the course until the last day.

Finally, for those who want it, it is possible to certify the course to obtain ECP professional training credits (Continuing Professional Education). In order to certify the course it is necessary to take an online exam to be paid separately to the certifying body that works with me (cost € 48) and to have followed all 8 hours of the first 4 lessons. Certifying the course means enriching your curriculum, so if you work in the wine or restaurant business I recommend that you do so.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation in memory of the course. Those who certify the course, after passing the online exam, will receive the Certificate of Competence in "Knowledge and tasting of Italian wine" recognized by numerous organizations and valid for participation in public tenders and competitions.

Hope to see you on May 9th!

Cheers

Chiara
