Horoscope 2021: Here's to a new year of change for the sign of Taurus

Starting a new year with a toast (actually two) and a little reflection rooted in my horoscope 2021 is now a tradition for me. I find it very nice then to start from the previous year, looking at whether expectations were aligned with results. In my article "Horoscope 2020: what will we open to celebrate the year of change?"I wrote while tasting Bellenda's Radicale:

L'Taurus 2020 horoscope says that I have practically all the planets in my favour and that this indicates a year full of changes, capable of crossing off my entire list of resolutions, as long as I don't put anything off. It says that in 2020 I will meet the right person for me, and in fact the day before yesterday I "made it official" my new relationship and thought, for the first time in my life, that I have a boyfriend I wouldn't change a single thing about. Horoscope 2020 says that I have to make couple and work plans because it will be a revolutionary year, radical. He says I must fly high because I will enjoy everything I dream of and also the right opportunities. Man, I want to believe it! In fact, I will do my utmost to make it so! In December 2020 I will be happily engaged, thin and more famous than Ferragni, perfect! Now I'm going to open a good wine to celebrate!😎 😍

Horoscope 2021: let's see what actually happened in 2020...

Am I happily engaged on 1 January 2021?

It was 5 January 2020 when I wrote those words, and if I had been told I was getting married this year I would have laughed for 10 minutes straight. In my best expectation was to be happily engaged, certainly not a disruptive love culminating in a wedding after 9 months (of which almost 8 were cohabitation...)! And yet it happened. And even those who enjoyed the chatter thinking it was a shotgun wedding were proved wrong... since in my belly at the moment there is only my beloved boeuf bourguignon! Except for a really radical change which I honestly don't believe in at all I have never wanted children and never will - and my husband knows this - so ours has really been a love marriage! Francesco is my soul mate and I think of him all the time, even when I would spill boeuf bourguignon on his head! 🤣

Am I skinny on 1 January 2021?

Er... no! I actually lost 8 kg for the wedding, but I'm still far from my ideal weight. In my defence, I remember that I live in Lombardy and the quarantine certainly didn't help! My good resolution for 2021 will be to reach 65 kg by 31 December and know that by New Year's Eve I will publish a photo with my feet on the scales so... from 8 tonight I will start the only diet that suits me: intermittent fasting. So far it is the only diet that is compatible with my character and my work... and the only one that has ever given me results! He says that in 32 weeks I'll be 65 kg... I'm giving myself an extra 20 weeks just in case so I'll show you the results next New Year! 🤣

On 1 January 2021, am I more famous than Ferragni?

Um... almost there! 🤣 After all, I don't know if the stars had predicted the pandemic! However, 2020 was an important working year because I made some crazy decisions for both my blog and the third (and final) edition of my book 'How to become a Sommelier', which I will publish on 8 May 2021 on the occasion of my birthday! And by the way, my wine blog has grown so much this year despite the disaster the restaurant industry is in, so the balance is still positive! A sign that interest in wine is not waning... on the contrary, it is growing! And e-commerce purchases are growing, so now is the time to invest in a great little online shop. What does the 2021 horoscope say for those born under the sign of Taurus?

Taurus horoscope 2021 says that it will not be a very lucky year. I, however, have never believed in luck. I believe in dreams that become ideas and ideas that become actions. And I believe that actions coupled with the ability to correct one's course when needed are the key to any success one desires.

Horoscope 2021 says that we Taurus will live on a rollercoaster this year, between peaks of happiness, obstacles, setbacks and failures. And don't we put a nice "stippo" on it? This is what life is, a wonderful alternation of joys and sorrows. The real luck is that we write the script of our lives.

Personally, 2020 ended in the best possible way: I cooked my husband Francesco one of my favourites for the first time: the Julia Child's boeuf bourguignon (click HERE for the original photo-recipe) e I paired it with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Podere Casanova (which I had already written about HERE). The year did not end as I thought: I had planned to watch the fireworks over the lake at midnight from our bedroom terrace and then make love while sipping the .G of Le Vigne di Alice, Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore 2015 disgorgement 2018 (any reference to events that might have happened is purely coincidental) Instead, at 11 p.m. my husband was dead on the sofa. The boeuf bourguignon had knocked him out. 😅

Two toasts that I absolutely recommend

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2016 Podere Casanova

It has a beautiful, impenetrable, intense ruby red colour. The nose is elegant and fine, with notes of black pepper, almond, orange peel, wood, cinnamon sticks and dwarf pine. In the mouth it is very pleasant, very elegant, very soft, with a good structure and well-blended tannins. In the mouth it has a long, spicy finish. An extraordinary Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, right up my alley.

.G Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG 2015 Le Vigne di Alice

I have talked about this wine so many times that it is almost boring. The 2010 vintage I chose earlier for our weddingthen for a romantic evening in the bath during our honeymoon in Matera. I find the .G a true masterpiece, the living proof that prosecco vinified using the classic method has unsuspected potential.

Brilliant straw yellow with green-gold reflections. The perlage is fine, numerous and persistent. The nose is very pleasant, with notes of ripe pear, lemon marmalade, fresh almond, dill and cumin. On the palate it is consistent, very fresh, savoury with even more citrus, saline and herbal flavours. Long finish and great drinkability.

What about 1 January 2021?

It started even better for us because Francesco gave me a great idea: to recycle the leftovers of last night's Boeuf Bourguignon to make pasta for lunch. Man, why didn't I think of that before? I added it to the original recipe by Julia Child because the result is really fantastic! To prepare my "paccheri alla Bourguignon"Simply melt a knob of butter in a frying pan and add the leftovers at room temperature (2 or 3 pieces are enough). While the salted water for the pasta is boiling, with a fork or pestle, crush the pieces of meat that are so tender that they will fray. Cook the paccheri and keep them al dente, in the meantime add 1 small ladle of cooking water to the sauce. Drain the paccheri and add them to the pan with the sauce, add a knob of butter and mix thoroughly. Turn off the heat as soon as everything is well amalgamated. In combination, of course, I recommend the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2016 from Podere Casanova!
